The Art of Chinese Calligraphy

Calligraphy, or the art of writing, was the visual art form prized above all others in traditional China. Come explore the beauty of this ancient art and try your hand at creating your own Calligraphy master piece.

Cookie Cutter Workshop

Join us for an introduction to tinsmithing by making your very own cookie cutter. Each participant uses hand tools to make a silhouette cookie cutter out of copper or tin. Learn about the history of cookie cutters and tinsmithing from Brian Ross, a maker of copper cutters and creator of bespoke designs for bakers and caterers.

Indigenous Tea Making

Nothing like a nice cup of tea to warm you up on a cold winters day. Join Cease Wyss, Indigenous ethnobotanist and educator, for an afternoon of tea making and learning. Get to know the plants that grow around us and make your very own tea to take home with you.

Story Sleuth Seminar

Stories about the past are as plentiful as the number of storytellers! What stories can you tell about your family or neighbourhood? In this seminar we will look at how to gather information from historical sources and turn them into engaging stories that document the past.

Ginger Beer

Learn the art of ginger beer making. Andrea Potter guides you through making and bottling this one-of-a-kind soda. Take a bottle home with you and learn how to finish the fermentation process.
