Heritage Garden Tour and Posie Pots NEW

Come to Burnaby Village Museum for a tour of the beautiful heritage gardens on the 10 acre site. The tour examines a large family vegetable and flower garden, a family market garden and the planned grounds of a 1922 craftsman style home. See how elements of these heritage gardens have been incorporated into the current museum gardens. The program concludes with participants filling their very own planter, featuring plant species represented on site, to take home. Please bring your own planter, no larger than 12 inches, and dress to be outdoors.

Fun with Fruit in the Farmhouse NEW

Spend some time around the big kitchen table in the Love Farmhouse having fun with fruit in this new hands on workshop. Try out the old fashioned apple peeler. It peels, cores and slices an apple into a perfect ringlet, see if you can too. Dip and decorate a candy apple using a 1920s recipe and create a fruit skewer. Fee includes a ride on our 100 year old treasure, the C.W. Parker carousel.

Ice Cream Making Workshop

Get ready for fun times on the farmhouse porch, making and enjoying old-fashioned, vanilla ice cream. Participants will pitch in during the process and everyone will have a chance to churn the old hand-cranked ice cream maker. Fee includes a carousel ride. Recommended for adults and children aged 2 +. Children under 15 must register with an adult.
