General Kids Camps Information
Pre-registration is required. Registration can be completed over the phone (604-297-4565), in-person at the Museum or any Burnaby recreation centre, or on-line through WebReg. (The family PIN and client numbers are available at Burnaby recreation centres.)
*Registration for summer camps starts March 13, 2019.
In our 1920s setting children play, create, discover and experience. Each week has a specific theme for aimed at specific aged campers. Camps operate Monday-Friday, excluding statutory holidays, 9am-3pm, $180
2019 Summer After Camp Club
We are pleased to offer an extended day program for parents who need a bit more time before picking up their children from camp. Your child will be able to participate in relaxed activities and games supervised by camp staff. They may also bring a book to enjoy during this time. Please consider packing an extra snack as well. Pick up time is by 5pm sharp. If you would like to pick up your child before 5pm, you are welcome to do so.
Science Detectives | 6-9 years
Tap into your inner scientist and get hands-on experience doing experiments and making awesome stuff. Campers will recreate playful inventions, get messy creating slimy goo and investigate how things are made.
Food Capers | 6-9 years
Finally, you have the chance to play with your food! In this week you will start your own cookbook by exchanging recipes with the other campers, make bread from scratch, bake cookies in the Love Farmhouse, and make food themed crafts and art.
Back to Nature | 6-9 years
Get down and dirty in this week of plants, bugs, and critters of all sizes. Go canoeing on Deer Lake, visit the Chinese Herbalist, take nature walks, embark on a scavenger hunt, and have lots of fun with nature and recycling themed crafts!
Outdoor Escapes | 6-9 years
Enjoy the fun and adventure of summer. Spend a week unplugged from hi-tech games and get back to the basics of summer. Campers will spend the week making and flying kites, riding the carousel, playing heritage games, having a watermelon eating contest, learning how to make ice cream and celebrating the fun and freedom of summer!
A Little Girl’s Life | 5-7 years
Take a step back into the past and have fun as a little girl in the 1920s. Dress up, play old-fashioned games, make toys and dolls, have a real tea party, decorate yummy treats, and much more!

Dig It! Archaeology Week | 8-12 years
Uncover the world of archaeology in this active and hands on camp as we find new ways to solve mysteries of the past. Discover how archaeologists find things using different tools and experiments, a mock dig, and even create replicas!
Culture Quest | 8-12 years
Experience Burnaby's multicultural roots! Have fun while discovering the world of Japanese, Chinese, South East Asian and First Nations communities through traditional games and crafts and even go canoeing on Deer Lake!

Vintage Gals | 8-12 years
Go back in time to experience life as a 1920s girl as you make handcrafts, bake cookies in the Love Farmhouse, dress up in old-fashioned clothes, learn to dance the Charleston and even spend a morning in our one-room schoolhouse!

Toy Adventure | 6-9 years
Explore the world of toys and games in this popular week of camp. Experiment with how the old-fashioned toys and games work and make some of your own to take home! Ride our vintage 1912 Carousel. Get up close and see how the it was made.
