Kids Camps
Kids can enjoy day camps during Spring Break or the Summer Holidays
Pre-registration is required. Registration can be completed over the phone (604-297-4565), in-person at the Museum or any Burnaby recreation centre, or on-line through WebReg. (The family PIN and client numbers are available at Burnaby recreation centres.)
Spring Break Heritage Adventure Camp
In a 1920s setting, children play heritage games and sports, make spring-themed cookies, enjoy activities at the tram, go on nature walks, and enjoy daily carousel rides! This year the focus will be on puppets and puppetry; exploring types of puppets and putting on a vaudeville show with a cast of crazy characters from campers' own imaginations.

Heritage Adventure Summer Camps
Archaeology Explorers
Explore the world of archaeology in this active and hands on camp as we find new ways of learning about the past. Discover archaeological methods and experiments create replicas and models and even try your hand at casting!

Apprentice Week
Experience what life was like as an apprentice in the 1920s. Learn all about working as a blacksmith, a barber, a banker, a tram conductor and a printer. Be a printer's assistant, a general-store clerk and even try your hand at soap carving and making a hook in the blacksmith shop!

A Young Lady's Life
Go back in time to experience life as a "young lady" in the 1920s as you go to school, make handcrafts, bake cookies in the Love Farmhouse, dress up in old-fashioned clothes, and even learn to dance the Charleston!

Back to Nature Week
Get down and dirty in this week of plants, bugs, and critters of all sizes. Go canoeing on Deer Lake, visit the Chinese Herbalist, take nature walks, embark on a scavenger hunt, and have lots of fun with crafts!

Toy Adventure (short 4 day week because of BC Day)
Experiment with old-fashioned toys and games. Create some games and toys of your own to take home. Take a ride on our vintage 1912 Carousel and learn about its inner workings. Make lots of fun crafts and much, much more!

Kids Around the World
Discover Burnaby's multicultural roots! We will learn about Japanese, Chinese, Indian and First Nations communities through traditional games and crafts.

Fun with Food
Finally, you have the chance to play with your food! You'll get to paint with fruit, make piñatas, bake cookies in the Love Farmhouse, start your own cookbook, and do all sorts of other food crafts!

A Little Girl's Life
Take a step back into the past and have fun as a little girl in the 1920s. Dress up, play old-fashioned games, make toys and dolls, have a real tea party, bake yummy treats, and much more!
