November 26–December 19, 2018
Start times from 10:00am until 12:00pm
We have re-imagined our Heritage Christmas school experience. This self-guided program now features an inquiry-based format, Indigenous activities, and stories focused on diverse cultural celebrations.
Indigenous educators will be on site to share their stories, teachings and songs about Coast Salish history and culture. In the Chinese Herbalist Shop, our staff will lead children in a hands-on activity related to the Chinese-Canadian community in Burnaby.
Teachers and chaperones lead groups of 10-12 participants through the Village, all decked out for the winter holidays. Visit the shops, homes and exhibits in our 1920s tram stop community. Learn about daily life during the holidays in the Lower Mainland by chatting with period costumed townsfolk and watching demonstrations.
This self-guided school program includes a ride on our vintage carousel, a reserved lunch space, a blacksmith hook, and a take-home Christmas craft; special rates apply. Please allow 3 hours for the visit.
This program is appropriate for K-9 including all levels of ESL.
