Join rivers conservationist and World Rivers Day founder Mark Angelo for a walk along Deer Lake, Deer Lake Brook, and Buckingham Creek during the salmon run. Please dress for the weather—appropriate footwear recommended.  Meet at the main entrance to the Museum just off Canada Way.

Mark Angelo is a Canadian river conservationist, writer, speaker, teacher and paddler. He founded and currently chairs BC Rivers Day and World Rivers Day. Mark was the long-time head of the Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and the inaugural chair of the Rivers Institute at BCIT. Mark has travelled on well over 1000 rivers around the world spanning well over 100 countries. He has received the Order of British Columbia and the Order of Canada in recognition of his river conservation efforts. Mark is also a resident of Burnaby’s Deer Lake neighbourhood.
