Description

Feb 14 update: Sorry, registration for this event is now full.

Family Day is Monday, February 20, so gather the family for a tour of one of Burnaby Village Museum’s heritage homes and then spend some time crafting using upcycled materials.

First, our interpreters will host participants at the Love Farmhouse, telling stories of the families that lived there and how the multigenerational occupants influenced the development of the house. Then, you'll get to spend some quality time creating crafts out of upcycled materials. All supplies and instructions will be provided, but if you have items from home you’d like to upcycle, we encourage you to bring them along.

Schedule of events

You’ll visit the Love’s family farmhouse where you’ll learn what life was like for the families that lived there until the building was moved to the Museum in 1988.. After that, it’s time to get crafty in the Discovery Room. Some examples of what you can make include a:

  • family portrait collage (Bring photos to use if you choose this option.)
  • decorative family tree
  • diorama of your home

The 2 activities will take approximately 1.5 hours. As space is limited, registration is required.

A maximum of 25 people per session can be accommodated, so register early. You can choose from morning or afternoon times. Simply click on your desired time below and you’ll be taken to our online registration system.
