Burnaby Village Museum conducts research on the rich cultural history of Burnaby using its collection and sources of intangible heritage. This research is used to create interpretive content in our village and to produce educational programming for visitors. Researching and sharing stories that represent Burnaby’s diverse history is a priority for the Museum.
Over the past few years, Museum researchers have looked into new areas. Research priorities have focused on the Indigenous peoples who lived on land that is now known as the City of Burnaby and who remain connected to these lands and waters today. Researchers have explored the lives of women and working people and have researched the contributions of Chinese Canadians.
