Since Time-Immemorial: A Look at the Rich Culture of Coast Salish Peoples and its Role at the Museum

Carleen Thomas, Special Projects Manager for the Tsleil-Waututh Nation Treaty, Lands, and Resources department and chancellor at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.

Join Tsleil-Waututh member and elder, Carleen Thomas to discuss the importance of increasing the inclusion, presence and diversity of Coast Salish history and culture at the museum site. Joined by Burnaby Village Museum’s Indigenous Education Programmer, Nicole Preissl, the two will share their knowledge on the rich history of Indigenous peoples that lived in and around what is now known as Deer Lake.
