Description

Welcome to Burnaby Fair, organized by the Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table and supported by the City of Burnaby, is a free community celebration taking place at the Burnaby Village Museum.The event will feature community resources for newcomers and residents of Burnaby. Visitors can also enjoy cultural performances, children's activities, museum exhibits and demonstrations. Join us for an afternoon of welcome fun, learning and connection!

Guests can enjoy:

  • 40+ community resource booths featuring information on settlement, employment, learning and language, families and parenting, health and wellness, culture, interfaith, government, food security, and other topics
  • live cultural performances
  • learning workshops
  • arts and crafts activities for children
  • museum exhibits and demonstrations
  • much more!

Everyone is welcome, including newcomers, immigrants, long-time residents, families and community members.

This event will take place rain or shine, with guests welcome to drop in at any time. Please dress appropriately. No prior registration is required.

About Welcoming Week

Since 2012, Welcoming Week has been an annual celebration that highlights communities striving to be more welcoming and inclusive places for everyone, including immigrants. Through local events and activities, organizations and communities bring together neighbours of all backgrounds to celebrate diversity, foster mutual understanding, build strong connections and create a greater sense of belonging for all. Welcoming Week also affirms the importance of welcoming and inclusive communities in achieving prosperity together.

This event is organized by the Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table and supported by the City of Burnaby operationally through Heritage Planning and the Burnaby Village Museum.
