Blacksmithing - Tool Making

Category

Blacksmithing

Description

Blacksmiths, unlike other artisans, made their own tools. In this course, students are introduced to the basics of working with tool steel. They forge a cold or hot chisel, then use a file and grinder to finish shaping their tool. Finally, the chisel is quench-hardened and tempered. Students with no forging experience must complete an introductory workshop (Basic, Immersion, or Forging Fridays) before enrolling in this course. Steel-toed boots are required.
