Join us on Friday afternoons for a two-part introduction to the art of blacksmithing. Students start by learning the importance of safety in a blacksmith's shop. Then, they will learn how to light a coal forge, heat mild steel, and shape it with a hammer and anvil. Students will create a coat hook in the first session and a dinner triangle in the second session. Students must wear steel-toed boots. Completing this course fulfills the prerequisite for taking BVM's advanced blacksmithing courses.
